WoW what an amazing Easter weekend we had at Senwick Alpacas! We welcomed over 40 guests, trekkers and Meet and Greeters over the extended weekend, lots of happy families making memories that will last a lifetime!
This was the first time since covid struck that we welcomed back a mixed group meet and greet but with a difference. Our wee guests and their grown ups got the chance to meet our adorable and friendly boys (who understand all about little people), took them for a wee wander around the paddock with lots of cuddles and photos. Then we headed to the crafty station to create wonderful bird nesters made from Alpaca fibre to take home and hang in the garden for the birds. Not only does this safe the wee birds energy looking for nesting material but alpaca fibre is also resistant to mite meaning the baby chicks will be more comfortable in their super soft abode.
The popularity of our meet and greet continues with guests from near and far enjoying a ‘taster’ of what our alpacas have to offer (cuddles, fun, stubborn moments, a couple ion escapies and lots and lots of laughs!). Honestly one of the most appealing things about alpacas is that absolutely everyone in the family can get involved, regardless of age or ability. Brilliant!
We also welcomed some top trekkers over the weekend, a couple of guests who were staying in our beautiful and unique accommodation The Secret Studio, took advantage of being able to roll straight out of bed and into the alpaca paddock, along with tourists from around the region. once again the variety of ages and experience goes to show that alpaca trekking is perfect for everyone who can manage a moderate walk over fairly gentle farmland. A longer trek allows guests to build up a really special bond with their alpacas which is absolutely delightful to see!
Many of you might have visited us over the past year and have had your meet and greet session led by Abby. Abby had now graduated to Trek leader and is doing an awesome job. Expect to see plenty more of Abby over the summer months.
